  • Savings

    Savings accounts are an easy and safe way to earn interest on your money. Your savings account may be tied to your checking account to protect you from accidental overdraft charges. Ask a SWB representative for more details about funds transfer options.

    Minimum Opening Deposit

    $50.00 is required to open this account; the minimum deposit requirement is not applicable to full-time students.

    Interest Bearing

    Yes – Contact a bank representative for the current interest rate and annual percentage yield. Rates may be changed at any time at our discretion.

    Compounding and Crediting

    Interest will be compounded every day and credited to your account every statement cycle. Statement cycle is quarterly unless there is an electronic transfer on the account, in which case a statement will be delivered monthly.

    A minimum daily balance of $50.00 is required to obtain the disclosed annual percentage yield. We use the daily-balance method to calculate the interest in your account. This method applies a daily periodic rate to the principal in the account each day. Interest begins to accrue on the business day you deposit noncash items (for example, checks.)

    Fees & Transaction Limitations 

    A $50.00 balance is required in the account each day to obtain the disclosed annual percentage yield.

    Withdrawals or transfers from a Savings account to another account or to third parties are limited to six per month. This limitation includes automatic or preauthroized transfers, telephone transfers or internet banking transfers or payments.

    For each withdrawal in excess of three during a month you will be charged an excess withdrawal fee of $5.00.

  • Kids Club Savings

    Kids Club Savings accounts are for customers under 20 years of age. Teach children to save while preparing for their future!

    Minimum Opening Deposit

    $5.00 is required to open this account.

  • CDs (Certificates of Deposit)

    A certificate of deposit, or CD, is a time deposit similar to savings account in that they are insured and virtually risk free. It has a fixed interest rate and date of withdrawal. Southwind Bank offers CDs with competitive interest rates and terms from 6 months to 5 years. Your CD can even be used as collateral on a loan.

  • IRAs (Individual Retirement Accounts)

    An IRA is a type of savings account in the form of a certificate of deposit which is designed to help you save for retirement while enjoying tax advantages for doing so. Southwind Bank offers the Traditional, Rollover and Roth IRA accounts. The primary difference between IRA types is in the tax benefit each offers.
